...Hi.
If anyone is interested in what I've been up to since my last update, read on. If not, don't bother reading.
Hmm, well I'll start with updates about uni life I guess.
I got my results from trimester 1, they are as follows:
Creative Computing Profession: B
Intro to Computer Animation: B
Visual Creativity: A
I was very happy with my results, my hard work paid off! Now for details on trimester 2...
The classes I got in trimester 2 were:
2D Computer Animation - As it says, 2D animation, using the program Toon Boom Studio 4.
Digital Media 1 - This module was AWESOME, it's all about graphic design in Photoshop and Illustrator. We had to do stamp designs, CD designs, and then this really pointless assignment where we literally imported a photo to Photoshop, had to add some filters and then save as CMYK/RGB format... A 5-year-old could do that, no idea why it was part of the course.
This was my favourite class in trimester 2 anyhow. :3
Film and TV Production (A) - This was another sort-of pointless module... we got into groups, and made movies. That's the gist of it. :L
I just finished and submitted all of my assignments on Friday, and I should get my trimester 2 results back in early June. So that is me officially done with my first year of uni. How time flies. :3 Presuming I don't need to resit any modules in the summer due to failing, I'm on holiday until I go back to uni on the 16th of September to start second year. AKA four months of freedom... and time to draw personal art!
I'm sorry I promised more art over winter and didn't deliver, I got lazy I guess... I'm going to draw more often though, my boyfriend keeps encouraging me, so I want to do my best for his sake as well as my own.
As for my plans over the summer, well I want to draw lots to build up my portfolio and later open commissions, because I am skint and I can't get a job anywhere... most places require experience or else aren't hiring... I even looked into volunteering work for experience but no word back yet... So commissions would give me the helping hand I really need. Although I'm not expecting many to commission me but I still gotta try!!
I'll also be doing the regular stuff over the summer; relaxing, playing games, spending time with my boyfriend, hanging out with friends, etc. I'll be on Skype more often too for the next four months. I miss chatting to my online friends. <3 Oh if anyone wants to add me on Skype just say the word.
In other news, I got a new laptop on Friday! It's an Acer Aspire ultrabook. It has an 11-inch screen, 6GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, and is half the size and weight as my last laptop. My old laptop was pretty big and heavy, and I had to carry it to uni to do work because the university PCs are so UNRELIABLE it's unreal... I don't know how many times my work has disappeared, programs have crashed on me, and the internet stopped working when I needed it, etc. So I had no choice but to take my big clunky laptop to uni. Problem being that it was so heavy that my shoulder would be killing me by the time I got home. So I've been saving for this little beauty for a while, and it's finally mine! It cost £330 so was a massive chunk out of my money, but worth it, because this laptop is as light as a netbook, and yet has double the specs of my old one. I'm so happy!
It has Windows 8 64-bit, which is hella confusing so I set the GUI to be more like Windows 7 and now it's easy to use. :L I love this little laptop though, and I've just finished transferring all my programs/files to it!
My life has generally been more awesome than ever this past year... uni is just amazing in so many ways. And my relationship with my boyfriend is still going great too, we've now been dating for just over 6 months, and are practically never apart from each other heheh~ <3 I'm so glad I found him at UWS. :3
Anyway thanks to those of you who bothered to read this, I appreciate it!
How are you all and how is life?
